Review: The DooLoop from Houndswag LLC

Today’s pet parents should know that it’s important to pick-up after your pooch, preferably with compostable waste bags. But what do you do with the "doo", if you’re still far from home? Better yet, what if you’re double-fisting poop bags because your pooch had a surprise second poop party. That’s exactly what happened to me last week and the problem Beth Herriman had on, er, I mean in her hands.

After adopting 2 bassett hounds with poor leash manners, Beth wanted a convenient way to carry filled waste bags without having to use her hands. After searching without success, she decided to create her own accessory and so, the DooLoop was born in her Maine kitchen.

The DooLoop easily clips onto any size leash handle with a small ball chain. After poop pick-up just tie your bag in a knot, slip the knot into the open portion of the loop and let it slide down to the narrow part. The whole process takes a couple of seconds. There seems to be space for 3 or 4 bags if needed. This simple design keeps the loaded bags away from you and your pooches until they can be placed in a proper receptacle.

Although Beth has a great sense of humor when it comes to her product and its function, she is serious about keeping our environment safe and we're not just talking about dog poop. The DooLoops are made from a non-toxic, compostable plastic and come in zero-waste recyclable packaging.

The DooLoops are still made in Maine and they're available in 5 fun colors, millennial pink, matcha green, charcoal, lobster red and new blue. We think they would make very useful gifts for any pet parents that like to go the extra mile with their pooches. There’s even a Limited Edition Millennial Pink DooLoop with Swarovski Crystals for pet parents that need a little more bling in their life.
